Susan Nacey

Wellesley High School Writer: Susan Nacey (1985)

Susan is the Vice Dean for Research at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences’ Faculty of Education and Natural Sciences.  Her research interests are metaphor and learner language, with a focus on Norwegian L2 English. She published a monograph entitled Metaphors in Learner English, dealing with metaphors produced in the written English of Norwegian students.  Her current projects include exploring metaphor in the online discourse of survivors of relationship abuse, and co-editing a volume on identifying metaphor in languages other than English. This volume investigates the metaphorical production of foreign language learners, comparing texts written by Norwegian learners of English with those written by British students.
