Steve McFadden

Wellesley High School Author: Steve McFadden (1967)

After earning a B.S. in journalism from Boston University, Steve worked for many years as editor of the Watertown (MA) Sun, and columnist for the Belmont (MA) Herald.  Then he moved to New Hampshire and set out on his own, doing mostly newspaper and magazine work, teaching classes in business writing, AV scripts (“whatever an independent writer can find to pay the mortgage”).

Finally, Steve writes “in the late 1980s I was able to turn my attention to books and the subjects that called to me then, and that are still calling today.  He has written 12 books, mostly nonfiction, on subjects ranging from deep agroecology (about farms, food, and our future); to the wisdom of Native elders, adept aging, and rainbow warrior legends.

His umbrella website for his work as a writer, storyteller, and healer is:  https://chiron-communications.com; the website dedicated to Odyssey of the 8th Fire (an epic, nonfiction saga of the Americas in our era) is https://8thfire.net.
