Michaela Watkins
Wellesley High School Author: Michaela Watkins (1990)
Michaela Watkins is an actress and writer best known for being a regular on Saturday Night Live starting in 2008 (interestingly, she was the second cast member from Wellesley, following Jane Curtin from a generation before). SNL discovered her when she was part of The Groundlings improv troupe, and the show was a perfect fit for her because she says “the appeal of sketch work is that I can write my own material.”
She has been a regular on tv shows including The Unicorn, Trophy Wife, The New Adventures of Old Christine, New Girl, Anger Management, and Enlightened, and also appeared in films (The Back-Up Plan, Wanderlust, and Enough Said).
Michaela co-created, co-produced, and wrote Benched, a comedy series broadcast on USA Network which starred Jay Harrington, who also went to Wellesley High.
