Wellesley High School Author: Jennifer Cody Epstein (1984)

            Jennifer Cody Epstein is the author of three novels.  Wunderland (Crown, 2019) was a USA Today bestseller, a Real Simple “Best Book of 2019” and a “Book of the Week” pick for People Magazine.

            The Gods of Heavenly Punishment (W.W. Norton, 2013) won the Association of Asian Pacific Librarians honor award for outstanding fiction.

            The Painter from Shanghai (W. W. Norton, 2007) was an international bestseller, translated into sixteen languages.

            The Madwomen of Paris, her fourth novel, was published in July 2023. 

            A graduate of Columbia University’s MFA program, the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and Amherst College, Jennifer has written for numerous publications and outlets, including The Asian Wall Street Journal, the NBC and HBO networks and The Nation in Bangkok, Thailand. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband, filmmaker Michael Epstein.
