Elizabeth (chosen “Most Likely to Succeed” her senior year) is a feature writer at New York Magazine. Before that, she was at ProPubica covering California and climate. And before that, she was a longtime writer-at-large for The New York Times Magazine.
Her most recent book, The Girl Who Smiled Beads, was a New York Times bestseller and long listed for the Andrew Carnegie Medal of Excellence in nonfiction. Elizabeth’s magazine articles have been finalists several times for national magazine awards, and she has won awards for food writing, travel writing, environmental reporting, trauma, and coverage of LGBTQI issues. Her writing has been anthologized in Best American Sports Writing, Best American Food Writing, and America’s Next Generation of Great Women Journalists.
